I m trying to build my Music Player app with architecture components but in
    MainActivity
    when I'm moving items from
    Activity
    to
    ViewModel
    there are almost all
    android.**
    import
    that are going in
    ViewModel
but what I read is That
    ViewModel
    class cannot have
    android
    imports

Hello, team! In my project I using MVP architecture and have complex screen built on RecyclerView only. It has article content (blocks of text, images and so on), some section dividers and comments. So, question is: who should care about building such screen - presenter or view (adapter)? Should
    View
    have
    View#setArticle
    and
    View#setComments
    methods or only
    View#setContent
? Now I have two methods. And it looks OK, but what if..?

Currently my favorite architecture is the Clean Architecture, with MVVM in the presentation layer.

@ghedeon try MVU) It's conceptually same as MVI, but less boilerplate and can be implemented without Rx.

call me "courageous" but I stopped using packages for my apps). I just have a root "app" package and the actual application ID is being replaced by gradle. Why have nested folders
    com.smoothie.gyroscooter
if you can keep it flat.

Hi there! In most Android sample projects influenced by Robert Martin's clean architecture we have these fetch-something usecase-scenarios in domain layer. But suppose one has this logic: do some background task every minute, everytime you have a result, show a notification. It certainly gets more complicated. If we are to define this logic in domain layer, how would we do that? Or is it a presentation logic (this thing with notification) that we have here (so domain layer doesn't care)? Thanks in advance for your advise.

If LiveData<T: Any>’s getter returns T?, but the setter only takes T values (non null), and I provide a default value right away (val a = MutableLiveData<String>().apply { value = “” }) - is there any way there the livedata’s value can be null again? Like some under the hood stuff happening? Would be nice it I could call value?.copy() of data class live data without the ? and a default value after that

Is this similar to subscribing in
    Activity
? I mean your custom view still have to live inside a `Activity`/`Fragment`, so there is no difference to me if it is custom or not.

@edwardwongtl, sure, but then we could end up having ViewModel as some kind of GOD object, if one can say so. or i'm missing something here.

Not exactly architecture, but how do you manage versions of your dependencies? So far I like this approach from google repository: https://github.com/googlesamples/android-architecture-components/blob/master/GithubBrowserSample/versions.gradle But doing it manually is a donkey work. Also, seems like update hints are lost. And on the top of it, it's hard to believe that 8 years later gradle plugin still can't fucking navigate to a variable definition. Did you stumble upon a plugin that is able to automate it by any chance?

Hello everyone I am stuck on a kotlin coroutine. Appreciate if someone can help me on that. I am launching a coroutine that after a specified delay display a counter value on the screen. job = launch(UI) { var count= 0 while (true) { textView.text = "${count++}" delay(200L) } } } Now on screen rotation I want UI keeps getting updated with correct counter value. Does someone has any idea how to resume the job on configuration(e.g. screen rotation) change.
