I want inherit java class from kotlin's
    Function0<Unit>
    but getting
return type void is not compatible with Unit
      where R is a type-variable:
R extends Object declared in interface Function0
from the other hand i can't specify return type as
    kotlin.Unit
in java. Is there any way to do it?

is there a scala vs kotlin cheat sheet? I briefly looked at Kotlin and have not found anything better than in even Scala. No pattern matching is a fantastically weird feature, for instance.

is there a good list somewhere of current companies using kotlin in a serious way? i'm aware of a few just based on blog posts, but maybe someone has a more comprehensive list

Someone could try and convince @irus to make a section on kotlin.link and collect public evidence of companies using Kotlin and submit 🙂

anyhoo i'm giving a talk at work this week to intro ppl to kotlin & show off some of it's features. we're a mainly java shop, with a bit of python & scala. If anybody would like to review my slides i'd appreciate it: https://gitpitch.com/gjesse/intro-to-kotlin/make-slides. something about this is that some of the slides have a vertical component, just arrow down on those to see the additional examples. There's less info on the slides cause of course i'll be taking about the examples & providing more info.

Is this a known issue that when moving a bunch of files to different package all imports disappear and all the types are replaced with FQCN?

About user groups. The interesting thing is that there are no Russian groups. I wonder if there are any kotlin users at MIPT (https://mipt.ru/). I am currently using kotlin in my seminar on applied programming in experimental physics. Maybe there are some local courses that I can recommend to students.

@nkiesel True. Class would be more useful only if you had more logic to be done inside that function. Those could be defined as other private functions encapsulated inside that class.

or if you know the number of jobs you’re awaiting from the start, and don’t mind blocking the main thread (which you might be doing with the while (?)) use CountDownLatch

<!channel> So this has finally happened: Google has announced that Kotlin is now a first-class, officially supported language for Android development. This has happened largely because of you - members of our awesome community, sharing your experiences, infecting others with your enthusiasm, pestering the Android team with your questions. Huge thanks to you folks from everyone on our team! And let's party! 🎉

So I guess the question is, what do you want to compare it to? Pascal? Haskell? LISP? Scala? What do you want to use it for? Kotlin in my favorite language, but the qualities that make me enjoy it may not be relevant to you.
