Anyone know how I might detect zoom events on a canvas? I'd like to be able to hold the control/command key and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in/out, but I cannot seem to find a way to detect scroll events and check if the appropriate key is down at the same time. detectTransformGestures nevet produces a zoom value beyond 1.0.

Is there any way to download the compose-desktop library and then link at runtime? Similar to how you can download a .zip of OpenJFX and add the libs/native components to the classpath with the java command. It'd be nice to keep the main JAR cross-platform.

Can anybody tell me whether it is possible to build a library which uses compose with Maven instead of Gradle? I have a multi-module Maven project and would like to add a module which makes use of Compose. Compiling Kotlin with Maven is no problem but with Compose I am not sure.

Hi! I’m practicing Compose for desktop and I’m stuck with the problem: I have “screenState: StateFlow” value with state for my UI (sealed class) From UI I use default approach “screenState.collectAsFlow()” to trigger recomposition if state changes and I have method “subscribe(chatRoom: ChatRoom)” in my ApplicationController (aka view model for desktop) which calls to a useCase and returns Flow<Message>. Emitter takes my state and makes a copy with a new message but from time to time Compose ignores (or misses) new state value. Screenshots in thread.

Build 188 has a weird regression, throwing NullPointerException in recomposing things, where the thing that is null cannot be null (a non-null parameter to a Composable function). This happened somewhere between 185 and 188.

So I'm having a really odd issue, I have two TextFields in a row, and they work fine until I put a modifier on both for the size of each one, then everything explodes, I can put a modifier on one, but if I put a modifier on both I just end with this error
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: LayoutNode@63a741db children: 1 measurePolicy: androidx.compose.foundation.layout.BoxKt$boxMeasurePolicy$1@3e07b9f6 is not ready. layoutState is NeedsRelayout
I'm just trying to do a date picker for a desktop app, and since I couldn't find a library online I was trying to make my own, any idea on why this could be happening?

[macOS] Is it possible to implement “optimal device for the view” as described in this document? https://developer.apple.com/documentation/metal/gpu_selection_in_macos/selecting_device_objects_for_graphics_rendering Currently CfD applications enable discrete GPU, which is suboptimal for battery life, and also causes some screen blinking when app is launching (pre M1 chips). I quickly looked through Skia’s Metal binding (they are complicated, so I’m not sure), but I couldn’t find any relevant code.

So I've recenty started to use Compose Desktop (0.4.0build185) and even the template app causes the memory to rise every time the user clicks the button. Actually it seems like every time the UI is recomposed, the memory increases. It has reached over 1.4GB at times. Has anyone else seen this?

This should arguably go into compose, but I'm building a pure desktop compose app (and I've only really done android development), but I'm looking to generate "clouds" as the background of my desktop weather app. I don't really know where to start, but I want my clouds to be generated since desktop will need to support like infinite sizes and so shipping a large video of clouds in the sky won't really work. Do I try to implement this with unity? OpenGL? Something specific in compose? A particle generator? Any pushes in the right direction would be helpful. Image located in thread of the type of cloud I'm looking at generating.

I haven't touched Compose Desktop in a while and I came back to my project to see that
    CoreTextField
is now inaccessible? When I try to import it, I get the error
Cannot access 'CoreTextField': it is internal in 'androidx.compose.foundation.text'
. Does anyone happen to know any fixes or replacements? I definitely need something exactly like
    CoreTextField
    , the regular
    Text
    class is not enough.

I’m running into trouble with Compose Desktop and IntelliJ 2021.1.1 and compose 0.4.0-build188. I’ve got multiple modules: common (for view models), ui (for compose desktop UI), and app (just the build script parts to launch platform-specific apps). The app builds and runs fine. But within IntelliJ looking at code in the ui module, it won’t recognize things from the common module or from the compose libraries for autocomplete or command-click. So it makes working very frustrating. The IDE is happy in the common and app modules. It seems like a bug although I don’t know how to narrow down any further so that I can report an issue. Ideas?

Does anyone know of a good library or tutorial for saving data in storage using compose desktop?

Is anyone else having issues with the AlertDialogs? I recently updated to the version 0.4.0-build188 (from the 0.3.2) and an alert dialog that used to work perfectly before now crashes the app, even tried with an empty Alert Dialog

So, after closing RivaTuner Statistics, everything worked perfectly for some reason
