A few words of possible wisdom to the fine crew at JetBrains: with 1.0.0-rc3 now out of the wild, it seems that you are heading for compatibility with Kotlin 1.5.31 for its release, when 1.6.0 is the current version. While trying to onboard more people to the joy of Jetpack Compose, I find it confusing and irritating to have to tell to rely on an older version of Kotlin. I would bet that most people using Compose for Desktop/Web are staying bleeding edge as they do not have legacy application to maintain. This is at least the case on my multiplatform projects and I wish the lag with Compose would be reduced, even if this means more bugs. I would even suggest to delay the 1.0 version until it works with Kotlin 1.6. Otherwise, I would recommend to communicate better about your release plans, even if they are tentative (and obviously not binding). Just my 2ct 😉

A bit of a shame to see UI testing capability effectively descoped from the Compose for Desktop 1.0 release. I hope this will follow on soon enough. Even though UI tests can be brittle and expensive to maintain, I find a focused suite of 'happy path' tests to be almost essential for building production Apps.

How would you choose to create 3D shapes in a Compose Canvas? Is there a 3D objects or shapes library? Would you draw 12 individual lines for a cube? Would drawing a series of tilted rectangles work better? What about a sphere? I will try some ideas and see what happens! Thanks! 🤓 ➰📦

I have an app which fetches a list of posts from an API. The app uses Decompose for navigation. I'm wondering what's the best way to persist the list so the list is still available even after navigating to a different destination. Should I save it using

? I have pretty much all steps done but I don't know how to create a Folder selector ? (I know there is java.awt.FileDialog but I can't find anywhere how to select folders with it)

How do I implement auto scrolling to an item in LazyColumn? I.e. when I press up or down key a sibling item is selected and I want to scroll to it if it's outside of the viewport. It may also be some random item in the list. When the item is `focusable`then the LazyColumn tries to nicely do what I want but succeeds only sometimes and only when the item is within it's cache I suppose, i.e. directly below the bottom. It works well with regular Column though. There is also `scrollToItem`but 1. it only snaps the given item to top 2. is terribly laggy. (If it didn't take seconds to populate Column with 200 items I'd be fine with it too.)
