    the more I get into the datascience world, the more I have the feeling people working with python will greatly benefit from some building tool like gradle which makes the code easier to maintain, manage dependencies, make it reproducible, use DSL with a statistically typed language (Kotlin), etc etc. It's not uncommon to me to find python projects often broken or very hard to setup for people outside the collaborators.. Looking in this sense, I found PyGradle, which unfortunately isn't maintained anymore. For something maintained, I found this other plugin instead. Also, it looks like the state-of-the-art tool is Poetry What do you think? What's your experience/mileage?

    hi, do you know any free, online (hosted) Jupyter server with Kotlin kernel support? Something like https://jupyter.org/try but with Kotlin support (surprisingly, several other languages are supported). I'd like to be able to work on some notebook and then share it with someone

    It turned out that we don't have reliable notebook to make it a sample Kotlin notebook at jupyter.github.io/try . If you have such notebook or can contribute - you're welcome. It should include: 1. Some instructions in markdown on how to install and use Kotlin notebooks (with links to the repository) 2. Some usage examples of data manipulation and/or ML libraries 3. Some visualization using LetsPlot / Plotly / other libraries

    Contemplating buying an Apple Macbook M1 (so the one with the ARM CPU), but wondering how it works with Kotlin Data Science & Notebooks. I know there are M1 native JVM's and IDEA, but data science uses typically more native libraries than most JVM applications. Any experience that people want to share?

    Quick dataframe question, is it possible in a notebook to write a dataframe extension method after the dataframe instance has been created based on a parsed CSV file
    fun DataFrame<???>.myMethod() = filter { some_column == "Yes" }
    So the question is how to get the required type since the dataframe schema is automatically generated based on the data found in the CSV file.

    I was playing around with the new Duration API and I like the 100.days type of extensions. But I noticed that the “.days” type of extensions on numbers are now all defined at the companion object level. From a notebook usage this requires a lot of extra imports if I want to use several of these extensions. Is there a work around for this (I really like to keep imports in a notebook for my users to minimum).

    Hi, all. Is there any tip for using Kotlin Spark on Jupyter? Here at work we successfully developed data pipelines using Spark on Kotlin. It has been a great experience, so far. However, we weren’t been able to use it on Jupyter due to some serialization problems.

    Hi! I've added a small but maybe useful feature: you will now see completion for the versions of Maven dependencies of a library. Available in the latest version of kernel (
    0.11.0.33
    ). Feedback is welcome

    Hi, a noob question. Is there an easy way to reuse a bit of experimental code between the notebooks? So far I see two options: - publish a (local) library. A bit cumbersome for quick adjustment loops. Good for when this code matures enough in the future. - use a lib descriptor json with a bunch of init/initCell. Kinda OKish, but gets messy quick with multiline extension functions using string interpolation :)

It looks like a bug, I’ll check it and fix it. To concatenate three or more arrays, use this method:
<http://c1.cat|c1.cat>(listOf(c2, c3), axis = 1)
It works
