That's not about trusting the code. That's about trusting the user. I mean, authorization. Now you have two dimensions: code and credentials. It can become quite compilated to annotate code properly.

Another dimension: transaction. When server should start transaction? When the transaction should be finished? How to provide consistency?

How to make transactions short-running? What isolation level should be used?

All good questions that will need to be answered, but I think they are answerable

That's not scepticism. I just try to prove that there actually is a boundary between server and client, and a pretty natural boundary

Well, there is a difference, in that server code you can trust it won’t be modified, client code you can't

I think the question is whether that means you need to build your architecture around that distinction, which is what everyone has to do now

Coroutine classes already implement Serializable, but it's not intentional and is likely to be changed soon

where can i download 1.1-M3 ? I'm particulary trying out kotlin scripting .. so looking for a standalone build rather than a IDE plugin.

@orangy well the post mentions either a maven or gradle build. Can I not download the zip from somewhere and try out the cli ? that is the thing i couldnt find. Something like https://kotlinlang.org/docs/tutorials/command-line.html

are the build broken up into the runnable shell scripts in a different place and the jars in a different place.. and i have to combine them?

@orangy perhaps i would like to put a request that EAP releases should be built with all the scripts in place (like a regular release)

If you want release style experience, you can use one of the released 1.0.x builds. Pre-release builds are, well, pre-release and wouldn’t have the same quality as released.

@orangy well im not talking about stability.. but just about packaging. EAP releases dont even come packaged like regular releases (with the shell scripts and all). Perhaps the assumption is that most people are using it via the IDE
