💡 I have this idea of gathering third-party projects related to Kotlin and crucial for the community which struggle with their development and maintenance (like ktlint and many others), and encouraging people to either contribute by their work or donation. I can imagine it being somehow supported by JetBrains as well, e.g. in a form of a section on kotlinlang.org. The non-trivial part would be to determine which project is crucial for the Kotlin ecosystem (like ktlint, extremely popular) and really struggles to go forward. It could be organised in a form of community voting/survey. What do you think about this general idea?

Not sure if any of you will join WSC2022 in Singapore starting in a few days, where the global simulation community celebrates its annual summit. I'll bring Kotlin to the stage there, by presenting kalasim, a code first discrete event simulation DSL/engine written in 100% Kotlin. I'm doing a small casual livestream right now at https://www.twitch.tv/sebi_io – answering Kotlin questions and getting into any kind of discussions you might have. I'm also going to be tinkering with building an emulator for Uxn (https://100r.co/site/uxn.html), a little personal computing stack – and probably the only assembly language I know that has hand gestures defined for each operation 😄

Did you ever wonder, how to call Rust code from Kotlin Multiplatform? I've build Kotlin Multiplatform bindings for uniffi if you are interested. Currently only JVM and Native are supported as targets, but I'm working on JS support too.

Ballast Navigation is now released in Ballast 2.3.0! Many thanks to everyone who provided feedback during its preview. Ballast Navigation brings simple URL-based routing to any Kotlin application, including Android (with or without Compose), all Compose targets, or anything that can observe a
    StateFlow
. Documentation for this new routing library can be found here, and you can also view the example projects to see routing done for Android Fragments with floating windows, Compose Desktop with forward/backward buttons, or Compose Web with browser address bar synchronization. And as always, you can join the #ballast channel if you have any questions.
