Benefits of not disclosing hiring salary forks? There are companies, who disclose much more, than that (https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/) and are still quite successful. But I really think there is way too much debate about it and we’re missing here one moment: salary fork in the vacancy does not have to be the ceiling for the already hired people.

My client in NYC is looking to hire a fullstack developer for their scalable business intelligence platform. They have recently encompassed Kotlin as part of their tech stack. They are only considering candidates who are already in the USA. Visa transfers are possible for this role. Most of the work will be done on-site in NY. The salary range is open, senior candidates are preferred. Here is the requirement: Senior Software Engineer We are looking for a Software Engineer that will build innovative and intuitive products for our client. They practice development, continuous integration & deployment pair programming. They use a modern stack: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Kotlin and Postgres. What they are looking for: Have 5+ years of experience developing web applications and/or programming with languages similar to Ruby, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, etc. Are able to understand difficult technical problems and develop end-to-end solutions. Learn to master a specific part of the stack, e.g., UI/UX, microservices, DevOps, etc. with the opportunity to take on product and/or technical leadership over time. MUST have excellent communications skills and are fluent in English. Maybe it's a red herring but I can't help but wonder if the reason why these listings that include salary all seem like they have terrible pay is because they're the sort of listings that decide ahead of time how much value can be provided?

Which is dumb. If you’re giving a salary range, the only boundary that needs to be accurate is the lower one. You can pick any number for the upper, so why wouldn’t you?

Given KotlinConf is on - I guess it makes sense to post our job here: https://angel.co/flux-13/jobs/368125-backend-developer-java-kotlin-building-the-world-s-receipt-data-rails
At Flux we're building the infrastructure that will digitise and organise the most granular data of our life's purchases, exactly what we are buying, and put that data back in the hands of consumers in a 10x more useful way. Many people will see that sentence and think, I already get instant notifications this seems unnecessary. Those who reflect on it will know the information about what we buy, e.g. that blueberry muffin, is critically missing. It's one of the final frontiers in the digitalisation of our purchases.
    • London (near Old Street) • No remote - sorry (though one day a week is fine/expected) • £50-60k + equity (am sure this is negotiable for the right person) • No Java left in the codebase 🙂 I’m actually at KotlinConf - so come and have a chat with me if you’d like - or drop me a message here 🙂 Some other, cool things to note: • We’re using GraphQL! • We’re using Kotlin Coroutines quite a bit too! • We have our own espresso machine in the office 😎

Hi 👋🏽, we’re looking for a contract sr. developer to build our Android app from scratch. The company is hellocore.com, we’re an early-stage startup with VC funding building a hardware device to help people meditate. We are currently in beta with customers who’ve purchased the device and interact with it through our iOS app. Experience with BLE on android is preferable but not necessary. We have some folks who can contribute to the BLE communication portion of the project. The most important thing for this person is that they have experience building consumer apps from start to release, and have a good, intuitive sense for UI/UX. We would prefer the app to be written in Kotlin but are not married to the idea if you have a good reason. This position can be remote but we’re based in SF and would prefer someone who works during our hours. Our hourly budget for this project is $90-$125/hr depending on experience and we expect this project to last 3-5 months at 40 hours per week. If you’re interested, DM me and I can send you the project outline.

Hi, BIG Telematics, based in Epsom, UK, are looking for 2 engineers (permanent, not contractors), to join our backend team working almost exclusively in Kotlin (although we do dabble now and again in other languages such as Java, NodeJS, Python, etc..). Details: Start: As soon as possible. Languages: >90% Kotlin (definitely the new stuff of which we've done a lot in Kotlin - over 1 years of development with multiple microservices all written in Kotlin) Architecture: A lot of streaming of real-time data into Kafka and consumed by containerised microservices. Lots of RESTful APIs. Lots of AWS services. Technologies: Docker, (Kubernetes), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Spring (Boot, Data, Rest, Integration...), Cassandra, etc... Location: Epsom UK. Remote Working: No, sorry, onsite only (although we do permit working from home quite often). Stages: Usually 3. A telephone interview, a programming challenge then a face-to-face involving pair programming. Sponsorship: At this time, we aren't unfortunately in the position to sponsor anyone - so only UK/EU nationals please. Other: We are a very international office, but you must be fluent in English (reading/writing) Salary: Up to £75,000 depending upon experience. Please send your CV and availability for an initial telephone interview to "jvm@bigtelematics.com"

👋 we’re hiring over at Flux (tryflux.com) - we’re building API’s that enable you to see what you’ve bought - not just where you bought it, and delivering receipts right back into your banking app. We’re looking for people to work with of all levels (and are open to people who want to learn Kotlin) - our entire codebase is in :kotlin: and we’re making good use of cool features such as co-routines and cool tech such as GraphQL, Ktor and so on 🎉 • Salaries are between £50k and £80k dependent on experience (and equity!) • We work from home on Fridays! • Annual team trip • The office is based in Luke St, London - not far from Old Street/Moorgate/Shoreditch. You can talk to me here/via email (tobie@tryflux.com) or apply/read more via the following links: • https://angel.co/flux-13/jobs/462560-senior-kotlin-developer • https://angel.co/flux-13/jobs/462565-mid-level-kotlin-developer
