Any suggestions on how to get intellij to STOP auto-completing every time I hit space ?| I type "null<space>" and it autocomplets to "nullssometing..()"

So a bit of a weird one this time around. I'm trying to do some stuff to my entirely java project. But every time the kotlin 1.2.60 stable plugin is loaded, I keep getting import errors on all modules on the project. Anyone familiar with this?

My project has started rebuilding all the time, e.g. if I press ctrl + f9, let it finish, and then ctrl + f9 again, it will rebuild all modules, are anyone else seeing this behavior? Or know if there is some way I can output some debug info from idea to figure out why it is always rebuilding everything?

Is there a way to easily map a terminal command to a keyboard shortcut in intellij ? I’m wondering if there is already a way to do this, else I’m thinking to go ahead and write a small plugin to implement this.

Is there a way to get kotlin-dsl gradle build files in auto-update mode to be usable in the editor ? Now when I type anything it kicks off a sync and repositions my cursor to the last NON BLANK SPACE on the current line. This makes typeing anything that includes a space nearly impossible while auto-sync is enabled.

Is there a mechanism in Intellij to support Kotlin Scripts with a 'real' include ? -- By this I mean to be able to seperate out common boilerplate like "import java.io.File" into a common file so that .kts files can be simplier like @file:really-do-include("common.kts")

@Gary Tierney any clues as to where exactly one might use the "ScriptConfiguration" ? I found it in the kotlin and intellij source but no luck finding any hints on how one actually applies it to the IDE

Yes, go to settings -> kotlin updates and change the settings to check for 1.3 preview releases, then just install the plugin and restart

I'm opening https://github.com/gradle/kotlin-dsl/tree/master/samples/hello-js directly in IJ (using the Gradle project model) and it doesn't run from within IJ -- 404's for kotlin.js and output.js.

i am lead to believe that there might be something wrong with the intellij plugin? i’ve been trying to create a variable from this lambda using discord.js, and i’m getting this error and im completely lost on what’s happening and why. can someone lend me a hand and help me figure out why this isn’t working?

val d = Double.NaN.equals(Double.NaN)

IntelliJ suggests "Call replaceable with binary operator". This is wrong because

Double.NaN == Double.NaN

is false while

Double.NaN.equals(Double.NaN)

is true.

I guess this lands somewhere between #intellij and #gradle, but I'm experimenting with the Composite Build feature. I have a library that exposes some third party library through the

api

-configuration. Then I have an app that requires that library and use some of the classes from third party library. Gradle(and IntelliJ) is able to build the whole getup, but IntelliJ insists that the classes from the third party library is not available (in the editor only, compile is OK).

Is there a memory leak in the most recent version of Intellij IDEA Community edition? My computer's conky and htop setup are showing above 7gb mem usage. Though if i check where all these memory is allocated in KSysGuard then I dont get any heads up on the memory usage in place.

also you can’t just add up all the memory of the threads that htop shows. most of the memory is shared memory.

Rambox is the utility that I use to chat here, but my suspicions are still aloat since this is a reboot.

By the way I did a fresh reboot and use jemalloc as my malloc library

Though this increase of ram issue happened even before i installed jemalloc
