How can I see Java class created from Kotlin class in my IntelliJ/Gradle project?

what do you mean "created from Kotlin class"? Kotlin does not generate Java source code, it compiles directly to bytecode

OK, good to know. On #gradle channel I’ve received answer that I can see bytecode of Kotlin class in IntelliJ with "Tools -> Kotlin -> Show Kotlin bytecode” and that’s OK for me,

After restarting the IDE you should see two new items under the Tools menu: Start CPU Usage Profiling and Capture Memory Snapshot.

morning everyone. I might have asked before on #general, but I couldn't resolve the issue so I thought I'd bring it up again. So, ever since I upgraded to the 1.1 milestone releases (both compiler and IJ are on the latest versions), my IJ is going completely haywire. It randomly marks things as failing (it bleeds red everywhere) even though the compiler happily compiles the code. It marks things as "can't resolve this" or "unused import" when instead they are used. Sometimes these errors come and go when I recompile. I also reinstalled the plugin, cleared caches etc. pp. After "Invalidate Caches / Restart" it seemed to be OK for about one minute, but as soon as I started editing stuff it went back to being completely borked. Anyone else having these issues or can you advise how to fix this? It's rather annoying when you're trying to be productive.

I can try a different project as well, haven't done that admittedly. There's some serious type gymnastics going on in this one so maybe it's just getting really confused about things.

Greetings! Is it possible in the kotlin plugin if I'm test driving a top level function that doesn't exist to have the ide give me the option of where to place the newly created function when I use the ides smart fix to generate it? It's kind of annoying to have to move it from my test class to the appropriate place in src/main/kotlin

Like creating new project using Gradle and Kotlin and immediately there is an error not finding the kotlin-gradle-plugin

I just keep a dummy github project to give around when someone asks for it...

it sucks when you get someone to try it and the very first step is failing 🙂

how exactly did you create the project? we normally do add the milestone build repository to your build.gradle if you create a new Gradle project with a milestone build of the plugin installed
