@janvladimirmostert when building Maven projects in IJ, the option in compiler preferences is used, the Maven property value doesn't come into play

I'm looking for a dialog like: pick this, this and this and move it to that new class

On Java, you could extract super classes

and moving things to existing classes too

there is the "Move" refactoring
