whats the easiest way to performance profile Kotlin code in intellij ?

JProfiler?

I think @ikej is occasionally here, and they even did specific features for Kotlin support this year.

@rogeralsing Indeed, the JProfiler plugin has explicit support for Kotlin. Most of the "support" is related to matching profiled class and method names to actual source code locations. This is quite important for the call graph that adds icons for incoming and outgoing calls to the gutter of editor windows. Seeing an odd bug in Android Studio 2.3.3 on OS X El Capitan and Kotlin plugin 1.1.3-release-Studio2.3-2. If I use an extension function within a property where I'm using an expression AND an implicit type, the IDE doesn't seem to be able to resolve the extension function. If I convert it to a block body and then back to an expression, it works. Hopefully the gif will illustrate it better than my description.

Something I don’t understand: aren’t plugins released/updated with IJ? I thought a new version of IJ would come with the latest kotlin plugin.

it comes with the latest released kotlin plugin, which is 1.1.3-2. and you have a newer development version installed

I just updated IntelliJ and now I cant open it, getting "Cannot load project: com.intellij.ide.plugins.PluginManager$StartupAbortedException: Fatal error initializing plugin org.jetbrains.kotlin"

any ideas how to resolve it?
