I've only used IntelliJ for languages that don't support that feature. Sure does sound nice though.

ah, i figured it out

if you have toolbar + navigation enabled, you get one bar with run/debug/gitstuff++ on the left, and another bar with navigation on the left

if you just have navigation enabled, you get navigation on the left, and run/debug/gitstuff on the right (what i wanted)

my problem was that i had accidentally enabled the toolbar

I'm trying to use the kotlincond-app project, but I get this error on very start of the build:

I'm using latest IntelliJ 2018.3 CE EAP, and I checked the module settings and gradle JDK, they all use a different 1.8 JDK (u162) that is correctly setup. Also, the IDE gives no hint on how to fix the issue

How do i remove my project's extra libraries in External Libraries ? My project has kotlin-stdlib-jdk7-1.2.70 and kotlin-stdlib-jdk7-1.2.71 both in it. Same for jdk8

to see what adds the dependency

and then you can try to exclude it when you add a dependency that depends on it.. maybe you don't need it..

So I have a message being printed on every loop of my program, and this message is botheringme. If the message were a normal string like "Hey there" how do i search all the occurences of string "Hey there" in intellij ?

Is there some configuration I need to do to get Idea to download source jars for kotlin libraries? I can see my source jar in my nexus server (right next to the binary jar that Idea downloaded).

When I click "Download Sources", the -sources.jar (containing the .kt files) gets downloaded to ~/.m2/repository, but nothing happens in IDEA.

Nevermind, updating to the latest IDEA and re-importing the maven projects fixed it.

When updating the stdlib and gradle kotlin plugin version from

, I can't seem to get the sources of the stdlib any more, Idea always shows the decompiled

.class

file. The button "Download Sources" doesn't do anything as always, and and I don't know what to do with "Choose Srouces..."

Am I doing something wrong that I don't automatically get the sources?

If I wanted as 'easy' a way to integrate simple code and/or bytecode generation in kotlin in Intellij so that the generated classes were visible to intellij -- would kapt or compiler plugins be the way to go ? dependant projects ? some trick with the source path ?

Compiler plugin may work but I think it's not yet the way to go, very complicated and undocumented

And kapt could be used too but it can be slow, I avoid it when I can
