Why is IntelliJ IDEA failing to import?

Hello. In my boot project on IDEA community 2020.3, auto-build always fails reporting unresolved references to springframework, and even kotlin-stdlib classes. When I go to the reported files there's no error. I think that because of this hot reload does not works despite following all directions that I found so far, like declaring spring-devtools dependency, setting "Build project automatically" and enabling compiler.automake.allow.when.app.running on registry. Thanks for any help, this is driving me nuts

Weird debugger issue where a local variable goes missing from the debugger. Evaluating it:

Is it possible somehow to have the same Kotlin file added to 2 different sourceSets that have different compile classpaths? That works with Gradle but obviously, IntelliJ can only show errors from one sourceSet. Is that configurable somehow? Like

IntelliJ shows a popup for a sec before hiding, shows another for a sec before finally hiding the popup without showing another one (aka the "Houdini" code completion popup ✨).

I'm trying to install the Kotlin 1.5.0-M1 plugin in IntelliJ EAP, but it doesn't let me do it (keeps telling that 1 .4.21 is the last one). I have "Early Access Preview 1.5.x" setup in kotlin plugin options

I made a kotlin console application and I can run it just fine inside Intellij IDE but when I build the jar file and try to run it I get an error saying

Error: Could not find or load main class MainKt

Does intellij idea use some ktor classes internally? Whenever I try to build a custom ktor version, under a custom version name and on a private maven repo, there are some ktor source files (and corresponding modifications) that are never seen by idea (even after totally emptying local maven and gradle caches and disabling

mavenLocal()

). See the attached picture for files in the ktor-server-host-common-jvm/io.ktor.server.engine/ package : idea shows a mix of source and class files in the same package! And my modifications on DefaultEnginePipeline never reach the runtime, I don't understand where idea fetches the old version.

Seriously when did IntelliJ become this bad? It used to be the most stable thing and now even the most basic project is just red everywhere. “Invalidate Caches” is not a solution, it’s a workaround (when it works after doing it 9001 times in a row-). #FixIntelliJ

Since the update to 2021.1 the search index seems to be broken all the time. Searching in files does not work, neither search for classes, search in the git history etc. The only thing which helps seems to be a invalidate cache. But I need to do this every day at least once 😞
