I've been playing with the new UI for Intellij, and I like it for the most part. What I'm having the most problems with is the drop down menu to select the run configuration on the toolbar. With the old UI it showed all your saved ones in the order you had in the edit configuration menu, and a small history of non saved configurations. Now the list is a list of most recently used ones and they are sorted by when they were recently used. This makes it hard to find what you want since you cannot just skip to where you know it is at and if the configuration you want is not in the recently used, you have open the edit configurations dialog to pick it. Is there any option to enable the old behavior for this?

If you have several tab groups (say, a left group and a right group), is it possible to "minimise" or otherwise temporarily hide a group? So you can focus on just one for a while without closing the other group completely? For now I'm just dragging the divider to make the other group as narrow as possible.

Hi all! This is not a Kotlin-specific question per-sé, but I was recently looking into custom scopes in IJ / AS to filter out generated sources from the quick search dialog. However, I did not succeed finding a working pattern that would exclude generated build sources for real, they’d still show up. I tried

when converting java file to kotlin file, intellij is automagically converting java method getSomething(), setSomething(), isSomething() to a var something. While it may be a good idea in theory for trivial code, it can create a lot of problem and there is a cascade of inheritance, abstract class, overriding, a mix of java and kotlin class. i tried my best for a while but now i have tons of “Inherited platform declaration clash” with a mix of var and fun/method and abstract and override ... is there a way to tell intellij to stop changing all the get/set method to a var, and keep them as a get/set fun instead ?

For the last few days, IntelliJ EAP has been very slow, sometimes even wrong at loading filesystem changes: • shows me the wrong branch when switching from the cli and then going back in IDE • more generally git status is not synced • files take a lot of time to save to disk so running gradle from the CLI wouldn't pick up the changes made in the IDE • Frequent "keep in-memory changes?" dialog I thought about some inotify leak somewhere but rebooting my mac didn't help. Has anyone seen this before?

I was playing around with multiple type parameters as upper bounds (using

to suppress the warning. Unfortunately it is not supported that well (which is not a surprise) and intellij sometimes reports rubbish or does not detect type errors. Should I open issues for this?

Hi, I’m trying to get remote debugging working with IntelliJ connecting via JDWP to a remote Kotlin process. It seems to work apart from one feature: the Coroutines tab. By examining what IntelliJ does in local mode I figured that maybe I needed to run with

-javaagent:[...]/kotlinx-coroutines-core-jvm-1.6.4.jar

and very occasionally I have seen the Coroutines tab appear but it is intermittent and most runs I don’t see it. This is with version

221-1.8.10-release-430-IJ5591.52

of the plugin. Also I can’t see any documentation for this way of working so maybe it is not officially supported? (I have “Disable coroutine agent” unchecked by the way)

Is there an .editorconfig equivalent of the Code Style → Kotlin → Packages to Use Import with '*' setting? Setting it and then exporting to .editorconfig puts the newly set value to the

ij_kotlin_packages_to_use_import_on_demand

config, but setting that value does not seem to have the same effect as the IDEA setting.
