Is it known?

I mean either way, there's really no difference post-compilation wise but it would be better to read and debug code imo

Also, for some reason, the gradle of the libraries only use Java 1.6, which doesn't make any sense to me considering that kotlin uses lambdas and autoboxing and a bunch of other stuff that were introduced 1.7+. The gradle has variable for 1.7 and 1.8 but they are never used as far as I can tell

The reason I ask about the gradle file, it's because I get an error saying that I don't have JDK_16 pointed to a jdk1.6 jar, and I was thinking that shouldn't it be either 1.6, 1.7, OR 1.8? I only have 1.8 installed

Hi! I pulled the latest changes and wanted to try building project with gradle and went through all the new instructions, but I can’t build because of errors like

Class 'org.intellij.markdown.IElementType' is compiled by a pre-release version of Kotlin and cannot be loaded by this version of the compiler

. Am I missing something?

Hi all, sometimes the compiler creates unused local variables in Java bytecode code. Is this expected behavior with neglectable performance impact? Or is it considered a bug?

Is there anyway to run just one test without doing changes to the project? I tried to run standalone tests and receive a exception

We forked the Kotlin compiler at (https://github.com/kategory/kotlin) to start an attempt to implement https://github.com/Kotlin/KEEP/pull/87. If any of you would like to get involved or can provide help to a bunch of Kotlin compiler newbies your help would be much appreciated. I'm at this point looking for areas of the compiler related to grammar, typechecking, extension syntax resolution, etc. and any documentation that can help us getting started. 🍻
