ShouldBeWithUnequalTypesInspection

. It aims to give early feedback when trying to compare things using

shouldBe

that would cause a test failure. It is built from latest master, with additions from PR 146. Attaching snapshots in 🧵

when I have an idea and want to not write any production code at the end of the day, it's nicer than todo

It's just that none of the testing world supports this - the intellij interfaces for example.

test cases don’t trigger `beforeEach`/`afterEach`. Feels a bit counter-intuitive to me. It doesn’t feel completely covered by the docs either, https://kotest.io/docs/framework/lifecycle-hooks.html IMO dynamic tests are a subset of

TestType.Test

and it feels wrong that they are not included in the lifecycle hooks that affect

TestType.Test.

. Is this the wrong way to look at it?

I am getting below error while trying to kotest tests on my machine. Any idea to resolve this.

I migrated my personal projects to use version catalogs + renovatebot. I like the PRs for version upgrades, and version catalogs work really well with the gradle build cache (at least in my project) so builds are really fast most of the time

@sam https://github.com/kotest/renovate can be deleted. I forgot we already had https://github.com/kotest/renovate-config

https://github.com/kotest/renovate-config/blob/master/default.json now restricts Kotlin version to <1.7. When it's time to upgrade we can raise the allowed version here and Renovate will create PRs for all the repos 🙂
