KFSM 1.4.32 has been released: https://open.jumpco.io/blog/2021/release-2021-05-23-kfsm-1.4.32.html We added support for state machine
    invariant
    expression.
    invariant
comes from DBC (Design by contract) and all invariant expression will be evaluated before and after each event. Next we'll be adding precondition and postcondition to all events and statemap specific invariants.

I'm a recent graduate with a Mobile App Developing - Kotlin degree. I'm looking to get some experience and would love to contribute to an open source project. Thing is, I'm looking for a project where someone would be able to help me ease in. You know, be open to my questions as I transition from classroom programming to real-world stuff. Anyone here know of such a thing?

Some help is needed with a code review of the KMQTT Client library ( https://gitlab.com/napperley/kmqtt-client ). I am trying to locate a needle in the haystack, with finding the cause of a problem where a double free occurs ( eg double free or corruption (fasttop) ). This problem seems to occur at the onMessageArrived event handler level although I am not too sure. Would be helpful having someone experienced with memory management that can have a look (as a second set of 👀) to see what possible memory issues exist, and provide some advise on handling/fixing them.

so, after playing with DSL and scripting for a while, I'd like to share some of my latest utils/play scenarios, which are basically kotlin dsl wrappers: • kotlin.kts for
    kotlin
    and
    kotlinc
    shell command • gradle.kts for
    gradle
    • slurm.kts for Slurm API hopefully they will come in handy to someone else

I am creating the Klogging logging library and have just released version 0.4.0. There is also an SLF4J binding and a Spring Boot Starter. Currently it supports Splunk, Graylog and Seq destinations directly. Let me know if you try it and if you find it useful (or not!).

Hi, We (@Ayfri and me) is looking at where to publish our open source maven artifact for a Kotlin -js lib (klib). Is Jetbrains Space an option or would we need to pay for that? Looking for advice for a good easy and free option for hosting our lib artifacts. Thanks in advance! 🙇

(not really sure if it's a good channel, but I have to start somewhere 😅 ) I'm wondering if there could be more transparency into handling bugs around Kotlin by JetBrains. For a given bug, all we see are some basic attributes, but we don't see e.g. associated PRs if a fix is in progress (I presume they are done in an internal tool?), and also some bugs seems stale, even if they are assigned to someone and are "in progress". The most important questions that everyone interested asks about a given bug are: • "is there some progress happening about it?" - as mentioned above, it could be addressed by exposing internal PRs • "what's the ETA/plan of fixing it?" - I propose having some partially prioritized list of bugs that are being worked on. Looking at upvotes is not the best measurement, I found some counterexamples - bugs with lots of +1's have no clear status, and some bugs being fixed have even 0 +1's. It's not about ordering all existing bugs according to their importance, but e.g. having a list of TOP 100 on which the JetBrains team has on their radar A positive consequence of some order around bugs would be that the open-source community would know better how to help fixing issues, by taking ownership of issues higher on the list.

There are some new releases of the LVGL KT libraries available on Maven Central ( https://search.maven.org/search?q=io.gitlab.embed-soft ). The Core library now has support for animations and fonts. Drivers library now has support for theming, and provides basic display management. A new library called LVGL KT SDL 2 ( https://gitlab.com/embed-soft/lvgl-kt/lvgl-kt-sdl2 ) has been created (also published) to provide support for the SDL 2 display backend. This library is mainly used for testing (without the hassle of setting up embedded hardware/software) and only supports the linuxX64 target. Additional targets might be supported in the future. The ball is in the Kotlin team's court with expanding supported host platforms ( @Sebastian Sellmair [JB] ). Would like to see the linuxArm64 target become a host target. Already there is some ARM based hardware running a form of Embedded Linux, which would be powerful enough to cover some areas of software development, like the Raspberry Pi 4 8 GB RAM version for example.

Not sure if #ksp isn't a better place to ask this, but let's try here. Since ksp version is coupled with kotlin version, which in turn makes any library some libraries using ksp coupled too, is there a versioning convention recommended for this? E.g. should I use
    1.6.21-0.11.0
    and
    1.7.0-0.12.0
to signify which kotlin version it's compatible with my lib?

Is there anyone interested in developing a Web frontend (targeting desktop devices) for Conduit Server ( https://gitlab.com/data-conduit/conduit-server )? The Web frontend needs to be developed using Kotlin JS, and one of the third party Kotlin JS GUI libraries/frameworks (eg Fritz2 - https://www.fritz2.dev/ ).

Hi all! Some time ago we tried Kotlin Native for our small service and we found out that there was no Kafka Client for Kotlin Native. So as we love Kotlin, we have spent some time on implementing such native library and it is finally released. We are so happy about it and would appreciate any help that community can provide: give this project a star (most important), test it or contribute. Thank you! 🎉 kafka-kotlin-native

All the details here: https://kotlinlang.slack.com/archives/CNL8G48LA/p1667942036538549 If you maintain a library or a SDK, please bring a talk and tell us your story!

hello Kotlinites. I've written a small open source compiler plugin for jvm kotlin that allows you to access the source text of closures/lambdas at runtime. I'm unsure of best practices around standalone plugin development so any feedback would be appreciated. if this sounds interesting have a look here: https://github.com/mfwgenerics/kapshot
