    Whoops, right, that worked. Thanks, all! I had to specify the Kotlin version specifically in Gradle:
    dependencies {
        compile "org.jetbrains.kotlin:kotlin-stdlib-jdk8:$kotlin_version"
    }
    ...which I didn't have to do before, since the Kotlin plugin added the version automatically. Is there a way to include the implicit version from the plugin when uploading, or does it need to be explicit (like this)?

    Well a gradle build should work outside of Idea too, so no that's not possible.

    Angular 1 was great but from what I've heard, it's degraded quite a bit since then, especially since the switch to TypeScript

    Maybe Flutter will at some point get an HTML / XHTML / XML way of creating UIs GWT only got UI:Binder later on, was never a fan of the declarative way of building things, it's very hard to visualise what you're building when working that way

    Hah, I read the other day on reddit that someone's company won't let them use Kotlin because JetBrains is based in Prague which in an Eastern European country and therefore inherently unstable. Well not only is Czechia not in Eastern Europe but I would say most of JetBrains is in Russia anyways. Some people really need to look at a map sometimes. Anyways, who else is worried that Russia's secret agencies are implanting back doors into Kotlin? 😄

    Dart is pretty well received internally, and having 100% control over the direction and toolchain means they can enact change in the language easier than they can say Java or Javascript

    @edwardwongtl dart/flutter supports (or will support) calling platform-specific apis from dart. however, ui is completely portable.

    isn't it much cheaper and easier to hire 2 native mobile devs (android/ios) than 1 dart dev who will definitely suffer with various flutter restrictions and workarounds? i mean in any case he will write platform specific code for both platforms. 2 happy devs vs 1 unhappy

Kotlin's presence on StackOverflow is Java + Javascript + Kotlin presence 😀 I think they missed that part
