@orangy I got a new standing desk a few months ago and put my late 2013 on it and noticed it was not sitting flat. Being an idiot, I immediately thought the new desk was warped, then another light went on: the battery had bulged. Got the whole machine rebuilt for $250. New battery, display, m/b, keyboard.

Are there global scope issues? My main issues with Gradle come with obscure warnings and errors telling me all my material design libs have to be on the same version and that they're not... but they totally are.

Android Studio automatically convert java to kotlin, Michael. Give it a try if you haven't 🙂

I think Python is one of the worst things that happened to programming in general.

If anything, Kotlin is more approachable than Java (which is already taught in universities).

Anyone tried running kotlin on the GraalVM? Any experiences to share?

Everything else these kind of stuff should go away. You don't even type much less, and IDE can't really take advantage of the language. Once you have a big codebase, it becomes unmanageable. Big codebase are already hard, without proper IDE/lang help, they get harder.

I noticed that when I run Maven in IntelliJ's terminal it is colored but when running Maven as a run configuration the output is all white. Why is that? Any experience with that guys?

@karelpeeters on one hand I would be hopeful Microsoft would improve GitHub and evolve it more quickly than its current management. On the other I have seen what they have done to Skype and LinkedIn, and it makes a little nervous if they will do the opposite.
