    Anybody is using Firebase Dynamic Links? It works well, and everything but why they ask you to call this?
    FirebaseDynamicLinks.getInstance().getDynamicLink(intent)....
    If the short link will be resolved by browser into your app deeplink anyway, why this firebase call?

    SpringBoot vs Quarkus vs Micronaut ? I feel like suddenly everyone is writing their "Cloud native" java framework. Why would you choose one over the other?

    I have this animation issue in RecylcerView, in a chat app, inserting a new message, then after it is sent, updating it (message.state changes). Insert animation plays okay however during when the update (notifyItemChanged(payload) comes, it just jumps to end position, stopping the animation

    Going to take a best guess on the mysterious JB product (

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6AxZ_Xraf0▾

    ). Based on some possible hints I am guessing that the product is a software project management tool/platform, which is an alternative to GitHub ( https://github.com/ ), GitLab ( gitlab.com ), and BitBucket ( https://bitbucket.org/product ).

    is the recent files completely fubar in idea 2019.3 and/or studio 4.0c5 for anyone else? Between the broken behavior of Tab placement none and this, I am losing my mind. Adjusting max tabs to 1 almost fixes it. After dumping my prefs and restarting it was fine for a bit then recent files breaks again

    @ursus Jenkins is oooold skool, i honestly haven't kept up with the latest devops hype because jenkins is relatively painless for maven and deploy scripts, just add yourself as admin and point to git and wire up checkin callbacks to github and slack. I have gone to the lengths of baking a custom docker image to host Jenkins in docker swarm, externalize volume, etc. My impression of SAAS has been <this is comletely uninteresting to figure out I would rather be coding>

    Hi all, over the last 8 months, we have spent a good amount of time writing an article to address an issue I care about immensely and that I think we should all care about as developers, product builders, entrepreneurs, designers, academics, and technologists. It presents a back-of-the-envelope argument for what exactly it would take to end world poverty and racial power imbalance in 1 generation at macroscopic scale. I think it is indeed possible and will take $20T in GDP growth from majority world countries. How can we go beyond “Guns, Germs, and Steel” and “Poor Economics” and look at things from a more entrepreneurial / design perspective? This article covers topics such as industry-driven conditional cash transfer for talent creation, majority world workforce development, and diverse globally distributed teams. I think that high tech industries’ demand for talent, rising global internet access (60%), and underutilized online learning material make a particularly interesting industry-driven development possible. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and feedback even if you take just a brief skim of the listicle’s bullet points. https://blog.learningdollars.com/2019/11/17/how-to-end-world-poverty-and-racial-power-imbalance-in-1-generation/

    Question - I have a colleague who has an app on a Pixel 2 running Android 10. He now has a Pixel 4 also running Android 10 but the app doesn’t work on this new phone and the developers say it’s not supported. What would be the cause of this? How would software need adjusting to new hardware even if the underlying OS is the same (Android 10, in this case) - the app itself is the LibreLink app for tracking glucose levels. It uses the phone’s NFC chip to read from a chip on the colleagues arm. Could it be related to the Pixel 4 having a different NFC chip?

    Guys, if I want a cloud CI (github actions), but their hw (or any cloud CI provider I tried, travis, circle..) is too weak (around 2core, etc), tests take too long, and there no way to add more power, however there is a way to have the runner on a local machine

From all languages I've used so far it has the most useful set of standard library functions, easy syntax, great IDE tooling and very readable code with a good balance between conciseness and expressiveness. Plus that code can run on almost any platform - JVM, Native, JavaScript, WebAssembly.
