I am trying the CE version…but the gradle integration is lame when compared with Android Studio

isn't it the same plugin between intellij and android studio (which itself is intellij based)

yeah, I know… but it would be nice if the gradle plugin was the same… On Android Studio when you edit the build.gradle the IDE triggers the sync and build.. which is a pain in CE

hm I think it triggered a build for me too, anyhow not using gradle often enough to argue 😄

@orangy : the Intellij tip about "Use auto-import" seems to be working! \o/ maybe a better name to it.. like "auto sync gradle files"...

@groostav Do some pair programming with him. Everybody started at some point in time. I would love to laugh at my code from years ago and I bet so would you.

besides there are many other ways to copy 😅

by “hardcore” I mean it might be too harsh so people will not collaborate, even if they pretend that they do

this is not the first offence, and we've done a fair bit of pair programming, I've had him write string converters and extract generic classes for code very very much like this before

@groostav Junior here. Shouldn't your junior have used a template ? So that he can call the same methods, without caring the object type ? Could you provide a version of what you would have done ? (Let me learn please =)) You should do code reviews and pair programming fixes with him, to let him learn. You have the experience, and if he's a little bit intelligent, he knows it, and may want to take advantage of this in order to learn more and more about clean code 😃 I remember my first code review with a Senior dev in internship. He bullshited my code and me in the same way, but took time to show me how I could have done the work. Best lesson in my life
