With such benchmark you mainly test the low level engine (Netty, Jetty, ...)

With such benchmark I test that servers basically work, respond to requests, consume CPU and Memory. Also as you can see, some frameworks are crazy slow even on a simple test like this.

Memory benchmarks are in, pretty much the same as preliminary, but measured with “silent" computer. Not properly silent, of course, but as close as I can get with macOS. https://github.com/orangy/http-benchmarks

Just noticed, that for some servers error is larger than value itself, but will think/investigate it tomorrow 🙂

is not correct? Why do you need to use global functions?

Is correct both ways, I changed it only because the latter is shorter (easier to write and read) but that's only an opinion... If you dislike I'll update the PR

Anyone using Matrix URI parameters (just learned about them today)? https://www.w3.org/DesignIssues/MatrixURIs.html

I never understood why they are needed when there are query parameters you can use. That is what I did, at least.

From what I know: matrix parameters are designed to represent a kind of "dimensions" or "aspects" within an information space to allow to reference a resource that is difficult to represent within a hierarchy. Because of this design purpose, matrix parameters may appear anywhere in query path, so that you can define an URI

/employee;status=active;occupation=developer;/issues;status=assigned;/

that represents a "multidimensional" resource where each part of path can have different interpretation with respect of its own matrix parameters.

Long been a gripe of mine that URLs enforce a hierarchical perspective where one is not necessarily useful, and sometimes is actively harmful. One tool where several would be useful.

@orangy In our backend (100-300 requests per minute) we saw an increased CPU usage of 70% when upgrading from ktor-jetty 0.2.4 to ktor-jetty 0.3.0. Just for your information, probably testing multiple ktor versions would be a good idea.

What's the current landscape of Kotlin server side? I've been using it on Android for almost a year now, and I'd love to use it for some backend projects. One project is for a website that will serve a few static pages, and everything else will be handled by Ajax, with some background work. The other is for an IoT system.
