@hhariri: haven’t check last releases, but https://github.com/JetBrains/spek/issues/32 was blocker for me

@dsvoronin: yeah that’s the beforeOn, afterOn issue… right now the workaround would be to invoke it directly in the on (not cleanest solution)

If its not up to date what should I do to write tests

you should use the framework which matches the way you want to write tests

the fact that Spek exists and is written in Kotlin does not mean that all code written in Kotlin should be tested with Spek

(the Kotlin team doesn’t use Spek, for example - it uses good old JUnit and has no plans to switch to anything else)

@yole is that because they prefer xunit style testing to bdd/specification testing? Or because Spek is immature? By the way, I get your greater point but I was using JUnit in testing although I prefer specification style testing because Spek had some bugs.

Kotlin’s tests contain very little code and a lot of testdata

there is no benefit in using bdd for that

I'm not saying Jetbrains should use Spock for testing. I would rather use Kotlin to test my Kotlin code. But if there were a solid, spock-like testing tool for Kotlin I wonder if Jetbrains and others would use that instead of steady old JUnit

I suppose I should read up on the Kotlin tests and get a feel for the benefits of JUnit in those cases.
