Just to say in the guide, that they should be in the resources folder... I admit, it probably should be obvious... but seeing the default

by fxml()

value used, somehow made me think they should be in the exact same location as the controller source(?)

Anyhow, just a mention of the resources folder should prevent anyone else leading themselves astray 🙂

Thank you for bringing it up, we need clarifications in the guide to make it easier for beginners to hit the ground running.

I just noticed that IDEA still garbles the gradlew script, so I'll just remove it in the next plugin release. It can easily be generated with

gradle wrapper

anyway, and this would also ensure that the user gets the latest version (or atleast the version he is accustomed to)

the plugin repackages all the jars in your dependency graph into one jar along with your code

@edvin I've been thinking of switching to Maven to simplify my build automation configuration. Gradle has a lot of moving parts and setup I don't need.

@thomasnield That's how I feel too. Many consider Maven to be a bit old in the tooth, but I see absolutely no issues with it in production. IDEA has stellar support for it, and you find plugins for absolutely everything. I think I might switch to Gradle one day, but that day is not here yet.

you are tied to gradle if you do android development, but apart from that I only use maven

I'm not using Android outside of academic purposes so I may use Maven. I just wonder if I can compile multiple project setups easily which I hear is possible.
