TornadoFX 1.7.8 is also released. I wanted to push this out quick because of the change in the newly introduced Property functions which mistakenly returned Properties instead of Bindings. This was fixed, along with a few other minor glitches. This release also adds those nice shortcuts I used in the screencast above.

@nimakro Good point. But I don't think the initial value is available to us anymore once it has been overwritten. This is also kind of a special case - if I didn't use an adhoc ViewModel I could simply have set

to null to get the same result.

I think if you have anymore than two fields, you should probably create a ViewModel anyways, to contain the code nicer, and also get benefits like that.

@kastork I'm having difficulties with the new Gradle projects. IDEA won't even create template files for them.

@kastork I'm not sure yet, I don't even get anything in the log, IDEA just won't pop up the dialog it's supposed to. Another issue is that it doesn't pick up the stylesheet when I run the app. There is something wrong with the module configuration I think.

Posssibly. But then how would the "Create Project from Template" action be useful? It can only be run inside an existing project.

It doesn't seem to handle that very well either, because when you create a project based on a template, you get error messages about missing modules and leftover modules etc.

This only happens for Gradle, it works great for Maven.

Right. I think IDEA is smart enough to rewrite those parts for Maven, but not for Gradle. So there might not be a good way to create a template project based on a Gradle. The best course of action would probably be to generate the sources files and the gradle build file directly into a new project. I have some code that starts that process, but I haven't figured out how to do everything I need to.

The old one also stopped working after your PR, so I think I will try to revert that so we at least have one semi-working Gradle template while I investigate how to do this with code.
