Hi. I created an application client for a Kotlin JavaEE project. It's currently a command line program interfacing to a remote EJB written in Kotlin. There is a commons library also writing in Kotlin. I have some TornadoFX code going, but ran into a JavaFX linking problem running the app client.

An Application Clients is an old, established way to get EJBs into a desktop program. The concept is to download an artifact and run a mini-container. In this case, an appclient.bat / .sh script is provided to run the client side code. This starts a container that injects the EJBs.

I've started on a TornadoFX client with a Controller containing the -at-EJB annotation. As soon as I figure out why jfxrt.jar has disappeared from the app-client classpath, i think it'll work.

@edvin If you get a chance...does this Kotlin look right to you? I tried the lateinit suggestion but couldn't get it to work right away. @ron Never mind, I think I'm using the Preloader wrong. I wanted to use it to make sure the project uses star imports for

tornadofx.*

, but this is probably not the place to do it. The issue is, without proper documentation, it's hard to figure out what the optimal entrypoint for this would be.

And just as I said that, I got an idea. Now that we have a facet, there is probably an init function in the facet itself that lends itself much better to this. That would also ensure that we don't mess around with non-TornadoFX projects. Checking.

There is an

initFacet

function in there, trying to move the code there instead.
