did you make the Rest.useApacheHttpClient call? @edvin <= Would this go in the App init() method?

I guess the thing is to be careful with the params that are being passed.

@edvin Thanks for the invite & suggestion! I was thinking of diving deeper into TornadoFX (I come from an Android background so even JavaFX is quite new to me). Do you think your TodoMVC application might be a good starting point?

Edvin has a YouTube channel which has a lot of screencasts too The TodoMVC is a nice comparison / contrast with other frameworks and SW architecture such as MVVM FX and a version of Flux

Hey Carl, thanks for providing the references. I’ve looked into Edvin’s Youtube channel but I feel that aside from the TodoMVC application, the other videos already require a certain fundamental understanding of both JavaFX & TornadoFX. Maybe I’ll start with the official references and once I feel comfortable enough to venture deeper, I’ll look into the videos. Thanks again!

@sigmadelta, TornadoFx is a great tool for cross platform desktop applications. It's a mix of lessons learned from many frameworks and tools, leveraging the power of the JVM/Kotlin . People who are maintaining the framework are very nice, respectful and kind, any question just ask it here.

@sigmadelta Hey! Not sure about that TodoMVC application, I haven't looked at it in a while and I think it might be using some outdated patterns, which were even a bit experimental at the time.

, I added a generic param to it as well to make sure you were working on the correct type of

@Ruckus I think we should break the API, I'm pretty sure it won't affect many, if anybody. Better to clean that up now.

@edvin love the Json like a boss, thanks to your hints/advice I've really got some complex json being loaded into models.

I hate though when I don't care if the model stores it as a string or Int, but the json parser yells at me "Can't parse IntNumber into String"
