Hi, I was reading through this sample app for tornadoFX https://github.com/edvin/todomvchttps://github.com/edvin/todomvc and I realised that when adding an item to the todo list that is too large for the current size of the container the label does not cut and get an ellipsis at the end. I have been googling trying to look for an answer on how to do this but I can't seem to find it. I was thinking of adding a listener to the widthProperty of the label. Any ideas/resources

@edvin I am trying to inject a component into a tabbed view as well as a popup. The fragment works fine but when I inject it inside a tabbed view, it disappears after the fragment is closed

@Rose I just tried to add a long description, the listview just expands, which seems like a good default. But if I understand you correctly, you want an ellipsis instead? That would mean that the only place where you can see the complete text is if you edit it. Maybe spanning multiple lines would be better? In any case, supporting ellipsis should be possible, hang on.

@Rose All you need to do is actually to constraint the max width of the outer hbox inside the TodoItemFragment to the width of the cell, minus padding. You can add this inside the

hbox

builder directly:

@ajithprasaad No, but you can just instantiate two fragments if you need to. They can still share the same data.

@ajithprasaad Not sure I understand what you want to do. If you want to add a fragment to a tab in a tabpane, just do

tab<FragmentType>()

It can be possible that the view may be open in a

tab

and I can open the same view from somewhere else in a

popup

. Here I can't use

inject()

because as you said a

node

can have only one parent, so whenever I call the view again as a

popup

it will get removed from the

tab

. So how can I get the above functionality using

fragment

?

@ajithprasaad By adding two different fragments of the same type. One to the tab view and one to the popup, but in the same scope, so they see the same data.

@ajithprasaad I looked at your app but I don't get the point of it or why you'd want to show the same view twice at the same time.

@edvin It's a view that can be accessed from many locations in the application. So if the user opens it from its main location then i will show it in a tab otherwise from any place else I will show it in a popup. This is just a demo app

@ajithprasaad Then if you just make it a fragment, it would open a different instance of the same view in each location, so you shouldn't have a problem. Or am I missing something?
