@edvin I’m trying to customize the FXLauncher for my project, it’s gradle based, but I’m not sure how to do that. I’d like to extend on the FXLauncher and give it the option to add a 2FA login before downloading an update. I have tested the 2FA login on my side with no issues, just need to know where to slap my dialog.

Today I stumbled upon another SDL based native GUI toolkit

though it is mainly C++, but we can create something similar in kotlin as well

@edvin I want to disable all the icons except the Second icon which contains the LoginView will be enabled by default. So as soon as the user logs in from the LoginView page I want to enable all the icons and make the focus to first icon. I was able to expand and contract the views from LoginView using

iv.root.items[1].expanded = false iv.root.items[0].expanded=true

this. But I want to disable and re-enable the icons. How can I do that?

also where would fxlauncher do the authentication?

This feels like a lot to have in the general fxlauncher code

@edvin as keepassFX is on hold (I need to rewrite openkeepass model to play nicer with javaFX) I was thinking of doing something with markdown, you had that hugo editor thingy that supported markdown, did you ever publish that somewhere?

@ron I never finished it. Really want to, but I just don't have time. Right now I'm writing the keyboard configurator software.

@ron Don't know if what I did would be a good starting point, but you're welcome to pick it up! Would be very nice to get an editor for Hugo up and running!

@jschneider Aha, I see 🙂 But what about doing one plugin that includes tornadofx + kotlin, and then the other plugins reuse that? Or are the classpath completely separate for each plugin?

@edvin There is a reason I wrote "plug-in" with quotation marks... Unfortunately that is not possible.

@jschneider OK. Still, 3,2MB might not be a big deal? Even with 10 plugins that's not many megs these days. You'll waste some memory for sure though.

@Gleb You can use them today, even with no special support. We'll include something formal later, when a few of us have some experience using them. For most of my own use cases I don't see much of a benefit, that's why I haven't stressed it.
