Update on Gridpane behavior: I finally gave up on trying to make gridpane work with personalized functions and switched over to TilesFX. Given Gridpane working with the gridpane settings, the function I worked with worked about half of the time:

I made concessions to work with TilesFX, which I will upload shortly. I think @pike was looking for customizable layout as well, so I'll be sure to include a sample kotlin code

@amanda.hinchman-dominguez I've never had good results with GridPane either, so that's probably a good call. Curious to see how TilesFX work for you. If it doesn't fit your use case, maybe we should start working on our own grid layout 🙂
