    If that gives you issues, you can always wrap it in 
    runLater { ... }
    and see if that helps

    I think I spotted my inflight tile issue - I tried adding the element to root, which is a borderpane, but I don't know if it's possible for the element to travel between root.right to root.center

    you'll have to. the node can along belong to one spot in the scene graph

    my example didn't transfer ownership of inflightRect...it is always present and occasionally pops up under the cursor during a drag

    yikes, I might need to move some things around. I was also reading up event bus which is pretty cool; I might look at making those eventbus calls instead of using things like controller.action(param)

    you probably could use a layer that supports a z-index. that way, you can move the tracking rectangle over the root.right and root.center without interference

    that checkers example i showed you a while might give you some ideas. that has a game piece sliding over a game square where the square is highlighted. you can also handle events at the scene level.

    i have an idea for a blog post where all the event processing begins with handlers on the Scene. the handlers will check the position within the source, target, and overlay layers

    I got most things working last night, so now when I add a new item it shows in the list view. I have enabled autocommit on the model so that I don't need to explicitly save the model. The problem I have now is, if I edit the the item the list view doesn't get updated. It gets updated when I add another item. Code here :https://gist.github.com/anonymous/cbba17c8e1c51a6f17e79e049aadbb22 I'm sure it's something simple but I can't see it.

    @edvin If I have a stage that should be displayed on multiple monitors, do I just give every stage instance its own scope, or do I have to use fragments for everything?

    That depends on what's going into the different Stages. The Scope feature was meant to support multiple-document interface as opening several different IntelliJ products results in different windows.

    @Sebastian That's a matter of preference I think, Both will probably work, but I like scopes, because it makes you able to locate another View in the same scope if you need easy inter-component communication (amongst several other benefits of view/scope vs fragments)
