hello, I just try to create a new project and hot-reload seems to not work

I'm not sure if there's any step I did wrong, just a new tornaldofx project template in Idea latest

I have no experience with hot reload in tornadofx, but I would expect it only to work when starting your app with debugging turned on. From the screenshot it looks like you are starting it with "run". You also need to recompile your classes with CTRL+F9 to kick of the hot reloading

For me hot reloading in TFX didnt work. Incapable to replace the UI. Stylesheets work fine though.

How do I execute something on the ui thread? use Platform.runLater ?

@edvin what was the rationale for using the com.sun HostService instead of the JavaFX one? I think they provide the same functionality. IIRC this was for showDocument()

@carlw I think that might just be a bug. I'm in the garage, making vacuum generators, so I can't fix it right now, but if you have time you could commit a fix. I think it's time we did a release this weekend, good to get this in there also.

@bjonnh Right now I'm building a vacuum generator, which draws in compressed air and generates a vacuum using the venturi effect. It has a built in silencer, and I want to add a valve to it so that it closes the air inlet when the vacuum is achieved. Most venturis just continues to blast through, even when you have a tight seal and have built up a vacuum. This is extremely annoying if you have a piston compressor, which often runs at 95-97dbA. With this vacuum generator it would run for a few seconds, then stop and continue to hold the vacuum as long as you have a seal. Saves money and is much more comfortable to use 🙂

@Nico Smeenk No, not really, but it can be easily achieved. You can inspect the ViewStack to see if you should just activate an existing tab or add a new. We could also add a function called

dockOrActivate

which takes a component and a function that visits each component in the viewStack and lets you locate an existing one perhaps?

How should i handle dependency injection of my own library classes in controllers? Right now i extend my library class like so:

UtilsExampleClass : Component(), ScopedInstance

and then just do

val utilsExample: UtilsExampleClass by inject()

in my controller. I am not sure if this is the proper way to do it so any suggestions would help a lot
