Hello everyone, Whenever I closes a fragment(.close) my primary stage is minimized or hides. Fragment is opened with openModal and then I opened another view as popup. Any pointer what i am doing wrong?

Can you post a sample of your code here? The part where a View creates your Fragment. I think you want the second View to be a Fragment too although since it's modal, it might not matter. (One new Fragment instance creates another new Fragment instance instead of a new Fragment instance referencing the singleton View.)

@Awais Can you describe what you're trying to do? You have a MainView that opens a modal which in turn opens another modal? Closing this final modal will close everything except the MainView?

very much is used to find open instances.

@Gary Tierney yeah eventbus is last resort if other solution doesn't work.

Remember that find() with Fragments will return fresh instances. A find() used for openModal() will not match with a later find() that is used for close().

@Gary Tierney - maybe I mispoke - I guess you could find a reference to a View that already exists (with the side effect that it will create a new one for you if it doesn't)

@Awais can you describe the functionality? your wizard is bringing up several modals and you'd like to close them all from the last one?

@carlw I have workspace where i replace views after signing in. and this workspace have timeout. now there are other modal which might be open as well like configview(a fragment). In case the timeout occurs. When timeoutOccurs I open a modal(inactiveView above) bluring workspace. and after timeout(second timeout in inactiveview) it should close all modals and replacing workspace with signingview.

The EventBus idea of @gtnarg sounds perfect. Post a TimeoutEvent to all interested parties. Some will close windows, some will close database connections, etc

This uses Views so that a later action handler can call close on the exact single instances. Fragments would take some parameter passing.

@Awais the primary stage is special. it comes from the Application class and is allocated by JavaFX rather than the instance creation of a Stage()
