make sure you don't put FX updates within the runAsync{} block. Even if surrounded with runLater(), there's no guarantee when they'll be called. I've seen cases where the IO continues processing with no updates. Then, at the end the updates go from 0 -> 100%.

I wouldn't be surprised if it failed again with more testing. These things are difficult to dig out so you need to build them right (Task.call with IO -> Task.succeed() with FX updates)

I'm interested in improving tray menu. Here's the prototype. Right now I'd like to add a support for animations and let user provide them and play them on show/hide. Which methods should I override, and what's the best way to pass it? Can you provide an animation of expanding (if possible)?

or you can declare them as daemon threads 🙂

the threads that were still running are the ones doing the FS watcher.. so keeping those in a list and cancelling them on close fixed the issue

@carlw I peeked at Corretto, seems like it's still in beta. They actually have github repo, which is not mentioned on amazon web page: https://github.com/corretto/corretto-8/ , maybe it's worth to make an issue here? Also they plan to release OpenJDK11 based version somewhere in the middle of 2019. I don't know why they do not simply support OpenJDK though (because they also put big emphasis on Amazon Linux 2 support?)

and want to use some kind of binding to turn it into a ObservableList so i can display it in a editor view

but there is only objectBinding .. and i am nto sure how to make

I think the easiest way to bridge the impedance is to use the Set in the constructor of a new ObservableList

you could also work with Bindings.createObjectBinding to rebuild the currentModel selection but I don't think that's any clearer
