this causes inconvenience for testing, as tests that involve using the rest class (with a mock web server) need the toolkit, which, in theory, they should not

And What is JMOD distribution for? As far as I understand, it's an alternative package extension (like JAR) which was introduced with Java 9 with the support for the native code distribution, but what's the purpose for JFX? Like make people install whole JFX runtime with JMODs instead of packaging it with your program?

@carlw or anybody who is super smart with JavaFX listeners, would this NullPointerException possibly be caused by WeakChangeListener? It's messing up my TableFilter in ControlsFX possibly https://bitbucket.org/controlsfx/controlsfx/issues/896/tablefilter-trying-to-remove-null

JMOD is only required if you want to use some JDK specific feature like "jlink".

@carlw I don't think so. I think I'm just using a standard JavaFX property (my own property implementation, but still a standard JavaFX property)

Yes, to provide some context the

TableFilter

keeps track of the cells present on a given column. When the backing items have removals, it will retrieve those cells and remove the listeners. Some guy did a PR on this some time ago and proposed using WeakChangeListeners, but now I'm wondering if they are messing things up and are not necessary, since I'm explicitly handling and tracking the listeners anyway
