Yeah, but there it belongs 🙂 It would be strange to have one column builder totally deviate from the others.

@Ruckus We have time, I'm struggling with the column resize feature anyway 🙂 If this also takes time we might consider releasing without both these features.

Huh.. I disregarded every sanity check and just tried a brute force attempt to get the SmartColumnResize thing going. An alarming number of things worked on the first attempt. The approach might not be optimal yet, but I'm learning a lot and will incrementally improve it and add sanity checks.

I do need help with the syntax/naming though. What I have now feels weird.

I'm realizing that there are so many approaches to the column resizing, i.e what should happen when you resize one column manually -> Ask ten people and you might get ten different answers. I will try to illustrate this with a screencast once I have all the resize types up and running.

The most important thing is probably how it lays out automatically, and that the specified, relative sizes are intact when you resize the container. That seems to be working pretty well now. I have implemented all resize types sans weight

Random share guys. I discovered Atom Editor today which I believe is on all OS's. Really incredible text editor with Markdown support. Better than anything I've seen to date.

Hey @Ruckus, @ron, and friends. I finished two more chapters in the "Learning RxJava with JavaFX" guide. Chapter 5 should start yielding a lot of useful information, as it covers combining Observables. It even shows how to synchronize an

ObservableList

to the contents of two or more ObservableLists using the

combineLatest()

operator

@edvin yes the treeview is built at the beginning of the application and popupated with the populate method. Then new objects are placed in the backing object (PhotoCategory) I have tried removing and adding the root item, calling treeview.refresh but nothing seems to decently add the new objects in the tree
