@redrield I guess the co routine is blocking the JVM perhaps. Does it close correctly if you remove the
    runBlocking
    wrapper?

@kristofdho For the JavaFX tasks, it's up to the author to implement the cancel. Take a look at the javadocs of the Task class. For example, if you have a sequence of three RESTful web service calls in the body of a Task, you should check the isCancelled flag in the overridden call() method.

I'll be on windows today using CorelDRAW and Sage50 (formerly Peachtree). I spend about 20% of my time on Windows "cross training" and supporting a windows dev environment for a customer. It helps to test javafx code on more than one platform too. I've seen javafx discrepancies across platforms before.

Hey @edvin @carlw I think we should have the following modules: - tornadofx-controls (contains all custom controls) - tornadofx-core - tornadofx-workspace (workspace implementation) - tornadofx-osgi - tornadofx-rest (I would place the rest controller in a separate module since it is more of a add on implemented with the controller class from tornadofx) We should also create a organisation tornadofx on github so we can group further projects under one umbrella, for example (tornadofx-controlsfx a lib which would add builder support for all the controlsfx controls)?

Now that we have a wiki-like structure in part 2 of the guide - feel free to convert stuff from the Wiki, guys! It's not much work left before we can remove the wiki and just link to the guide 🙂

It looks like VirtualFlow is completely locked down in Java 9. It's public and not final, but everything interesting is private. That sucks big time. I might need to implement a similar solution from scratch to get DataGrid up and running. Should also investigate how this is done in similar Java 9 compatible components, I suspect there are some in ControlsFX.

@pike do you have Platform.setImplicitExit() set to false anywhere? Maybe you can put that call in in case something in the framework has made it. It should be true which is the default.

I have an eclipse plain javafx project which depends on a kotlin (tornadofx) project (separate maven builds). Should I be able to debug from eclipse (i.e. step into the kotlin code)? I've installed the Kotlin eclipse plugin.
