@edvin I was running ListViewTest.kt as an Application and was getting the following ClassCastException. I reworked the test case to use ItemViewModel and sent you a PR. I haven't seen your latest ListView work so it might have some boilerplate that can be removed. java.lang.ClassCastException: tornadofx.tests.MyItemFragment cannot be cast to tornadofx.ListCellFragment at tornadofx.SmartListCell.updateItem(ListView.kt:157) at javafx.scene.control.ListCell.updateItem(ListCell.java:471) at javafx.scene.control.ListCell.indexChanged(ListCell.java:330)

@edvin You mentioned a last week that you had "a TornadoFX app deployed using FXLauncher". Do you have an example or any documentation for that? I was going to try to install a TornadoFX application and thought I might try it with FXLauncher.

@edvin didn't get to the guide today. Spent the entire afternoon teaching TornadoFX to my colleague at work. He is rewriting one of our operation-critical business apps from Java/Swing to TornadoFX. Taught him some Rx patterns with TornadoFX too, which I cover in the RxJavaFX Guide.

I'm catching up with a friend over coffee tomorrow, getting a minor fix for my car, then going to update the CSS chapter in the guide. Speaking of, glad to see the idea of type-safe CSS has spread!

@carlw thanks! I had a problem with cast too, but it was easily solvable.

You use bindings in your example. Can you make it work using item directly?

@jchildress The FXLauncher project is documented mainly via the

pom.xml

for Maven and the Gradle build script, but it's pretty self explanatory. What I did with this last app includes code signing, native libraries etc, så I think it will make for an interesting blog post. Will try to get to that shortly, but if you want to give it a go now I'd be happy to help!

@edvin I'm working on a SimpleListViewTest.kt that can be a simpler version without so many layers. I'm using the prior version with the ClassCastException removed. After fixing that error, there are two items in the list, but they're both blank. I'm adding a line for cellFormat that should give @voddan a simpler example without JavaFX binding
