It is modal by default, but you can disable modality by passing

modal = false

to the

openInternalWindow

function. I need help with a concrete example app I can make to showcase it.

I have described it in the guide now, along with all the options.

While openModal opens in a new Stage, openInternalWindow opens over the current root node, or any other node if you specify it:
