@gtnarg Then you define the TableView and listen for the

LOADED

event. When it fires, you can do what you need to the TableView, for example select the first row and request focus. I also added a button to the view that calls the loadData function just to be able to test it.

Now the controller just needs to emit the event after it has loaded the data. Make sure the event is fired on the FX thread:

I chose a slightly different strategy. The Controller doesn't dictate what thread it does work on, but it makes sure that the event is emitted on the fx thread. The button action makes sure to call the controller function async.

Also, the table column definition is weird because I used Strings as the data type 🙂

I had totally different idea of what it does, I was actually imagining it docking a view or a fragment in another view or fragment

I would never have guessed that it basically was

onShow

or

onHide

I understood it the same way

@ron Actually, it is both. It is called when you dock a View inside another View, or if you "dock" it in a Window, and the window is shown/hidden.

onDock can still be called, even if the parent is not visible. That's why I didn't want to use the word show
