In my CRM I have a "workbench" with a navigation bar and some common buttons like back, forward, save and refresh. I have interfaces for those, so docked views can implement them if they want to interact with those buttons. I think it's working really well, so I'm thinking of doing a screencast on it.

I've also bound each button to stuff like Ctrl-R for refresh, Ctrl-S for save, Alt-S/Ctrl-L for search/location bar etc. Feels like a browser, without the pain.

And Ctrl-N for "New workbench" - pops up a new window with a separate scope.

I'm beginning to think that this Workbench would be valuable for others writing business apps.. Maybe I could generify it a bit and include it with the framework.. hmm...

@edvin That would be great. I wish I/we/someone had time to put together something like Template10 for TornadoFX/JavaFX.

It just takes a lot of time....

And money... 🙂
