@carlw What is a pop filter?

it's a thin piece of nylon pulled taut over a frame that sits between you and the mic to catch Ps and Bs that might come out much louder than the rest of the letters in the word

it lets you get close to the mic and takes the extra wind out of these sounds so that the mic doesn't clip

I need this magical thing.

i have this one. it should attach to the boom stand you ordered

mine attaches to a round mic stand. it looks like the RODE might not fit as cleanly

yeah...this is not a sophisticated piece of equipment. you can also buy or make an attachment for the back of the microphone made of a curved piece of foam

this might interfere with the screencast, but it will help eliminate reflections from the wall you're facing

Yesterday I finished the RxJavaFX guide. Now I'm in chapter 3 of the TornadoFX guide

I've started modernizing the syntax in the guide, there are some outdated parts, and stuff where we should get to the point a bit quicker.

I scrolled through the last commits in the

tornadofx-guide

repository. There is also a new chapter about Workspaces and I18N.

The resulting Workspace consists of a button bar with four default buttons and an empty content area below it.

Will workspaces later have sidepanes (like IntelliJ or Visual Studio Code), or is this out of scope for this class?

@hastebrot That's certainly within scope. It's already possible to dock in the sidepanes, since the root node of the Workspace is a BorderPane, but there is no defined API for it yet.

I was thinking about TestFX classes for TornardoFX tests like

AppTest

,

ViewTest

(maybe

UIComponentTest

).

AppTest

could test the whole application, while

ViewTest

could test a single view. If this works somehow with injection and all this stuff.

That would be very nice!
