Yes, I would recommend creating a variable per main menu item so that it's easier to manipulate for others. We might look at a declarative way to add menu items into slots though. I think we'll need it to avoid a mess.

We could for example create slots in the menu somehow and give others access to those slots.

Then add some declarative mechanism on top of that.

@edvin I have one other suggestion for fxlauncher

it should be able to inform the app it loads that it has a new version

so the app might respond to that with for example a "whats new" popup

I've been wanting to do something like that. The launcher might even have it's own functionality for that, so users don't need to adapt their app to support this.

ArcGIS for web or desktop? Haven't tested any other JavaFX map libraries. We need to render maps with 100,000 polygons. I saw no library that offers that.

I don't know the total number of points, lines, and polygons, but it's easily 5,000 - 10,000 per region and we have at least five regions.

We don't need to see that many at one time ever, just to be able to quickly see portions when you select features and move/zoom to different areas.

These are commercial offerings in our space... Ours is internal. So we have less resources of course 🙂
