@gtnarg is right. I go through this all the time with TableView. Most people I've found feel like a tab out should take you to the next cell, committing the previous value. So, I usually put the commit with a tab out and a mouse out. I've also parameterized this with an inline edit option (false works with the enter commit).

@edvin it's more of a textfield problem, so anything that lets you put the appropriate handlers on that component will work.

@edvin Maybe useTextField() is your hook? You can specify a variation that will be more aggressive in the commit and may also give you a hook for navigation. For example, an isInlineEditable would let you tab from cell to cell within a row, committing along the way
