And you think this is a "Kotlin specific Gradle" issue as the topic likes to call it? How?

Honestly now that you ask I am not really quite sure

but, 
• this is happenning with a number of kotlin multiplatform libraries
• they are all configured with the kotlin multiplatform plugin too
So, I figured, I should start here.

However, if this is not the place. Where do you think is the correct slack to ask this?? gradle???

I guess none. As it is a message from the gradle-nexus publish-plugin you should probably check their issue tracker / ask there.
