Is there any realistic chance to build and package a compose desktop macOS DMG for ARM from an Intel machine? I can build all currently supported desktop variants (macOS, Windows and Linux) for Intel via GitHub runners but GitHub still does not support ARM runners. I really do not want to buy an ARM Mac just to be able to build my app for ARM too.

Check out Conveyor, it's a 3rd party tool which can do this. Out of the KMP box, no, too dependent on Mac native toolchain AFAIK.

I had a look at Conveyor already and it looks very interesting but it is only free for open source software and not, like in my case, for all non-commercial software. I give my software binaries away for free but I cannot make it fully open source at the moment. The Mac native toolchain shouldn’t be the main problem because I am on an (Intel) Mac and I just want to build for ARM Macs there. AFAIK the toolchain supports that.

@Michael Paus I work for Hydraulic - what's the scenario? Normally free but not open source = VC funded startup that can actually buy a license. If it's expected to be open sourced in future, for example, maybe we can sort out a license for you.

@mikehearn I certainly do not fall into that category. May I send you a direct message?

Sure, please do!
