Three different GPTs just told me there's a Color.blend() function. But there doesn't appear to be one. Did there used to be and it got removed?

e
there never was, they're hallucinating
k
All these GPTs are really good at botsplaining and sounding 100% certain of what they randomly string together.

i get such a kick out of them. It's fun to compare them. They are stochastic parrots. They say the most plausible thing. Often, correct and plausible overlap, which is why they seem to be useful (and sometimes are), but they tell no truth. Just plausible

We have blendARGB(), blendHSL() and blendLAB() in androidx-core-ktx
As well as a

overload on
Color
and
@ColorInt Int
to do
SrcOver
blend
e
I assumed OP was talking about androidx.compose.graphics.Color
r
Yeah but explaining why those hallucinations may happen
Because we have adjacent APIs that are called blend
e
fair. plus there's APIs from other languages too

they are going to create some new desire paths in generated docs https://link.medium.com/NGOnsgK3Pzb
