When I use the “Copy image” right click option on a Compose preview, on macOS, and paste the image into a GitHub PR, the resulting image does not render in Chrome. Even after I download the image and try to open the image locally, it does not render in Chrome (shows up fine in Finder / Preview / Other browsers). Something is wrong with the resulting PNG. I am not sure if the fault is with Android Studio, or Chrome, or GitHub, but that only happens with the “Copy image” option on Compose Previews. Did anyone encounter that?

I've had similar issues on GitHub, but also when copy-pasting screenshots as well. The only thing I've seen will make this work is to actually save the image first, before uploading to GitHub (easier to do with the emulator, though).

What do you use to save the image locally btw? I am not familiar with what’s the easiest way to do this “icon in clipboard” -> “saved image” conversion.

Preview 😄
File -> new from clipboard
(I'm on a Mac)

Would be nice if there was a "Save image" option along with the "Copy image" in the context menu. I wonder if there is a feature request already for that.

Since this can be done from the screenshot from a device/emulator already exists it doesn't feel impossible to get working
