Hi everyone, I've been asked several times over the last year about how I got into talks - to be frank, it was quite by accident. I found a cool topic to research, and with the guidance of experts and seniors, I spent a lot of time finding connections crossing over paths as a "lens" to tie together these topics and color them from a different perspective. As of lately, I've been working in my local community to encourage folks to write blogs or even talk about non-technical topics in the tech world in interviews, but perhaps I'd like to extend an increase in community participation by getting more folks to submit talk ideas that might have no idea where to start. Whether you've simply attended a conference, or have spoken at a small organization, or even act as part of program committee yourself, what is it that you look for in topics you wish to see? How does it stick out to you differently than simply reading a blog about a cool topic?
